Why we built Coltie

Coltie started with a simple observation: the most important connections in academia — the right mentor, the right lab, the right opportunity — are invisible to the students who need them most. Coltie makes those connections accessible, measurable, and human.

The problem with how academia connects

Universities struggle with scattered websites and manual updates, which quietly erode recruitment, collaboration, and the student experience. Students, meanwhile, rely on word of mouth and luck.

What we’re building

The Coltie App gives students a dynamic profile, faculty discovery, and opportunity alerts. Coltie Hive gives departments a living research portfolio and the tools to recruit and support graduate students. Together, they make academic talent and opportunity findable.
